I didn't realise it had been this long

I have just visited my blog and it's been ages since my last post. I have just finished my Christmas shopping-what a relief!
Happy Christmas fellow bloggers-I will try to post more often in 2009

Iris Folding

This is my 1st attempt at iris folding. I bought Coppernob's "Fancy That" book and now I am addicted so I must start collecting papers that are suitable for this craft. I do like an excuse to start collecting something! I used some foil sheets for this project and will mount the piece on a card. The back is incredibly untidy but I will get neater with practice.

Poppies

I have now discovered Hinny Bop crafting CDs ( another thing to start collecting!!) and have used a similar layout to my cheetah card. I have made a sort of photo studio with white card and I am getting slightly better pictures now. Here is my poppy card. The flowers were made using a large flower petal punch and the centres are seed beads in a puddle of glossy accents. I just love making them in all colours and the punch is so much easier than cutting the petals by hand which is what I did before.

My Brother's Birthday card made with the Jayne Netley Mayhew CD from Joanna Sheen. This is one of the most inspiring papercrafting CDs I have ever used. The images are beautiful and cover all aspects of nature from wild flowers to big cats. The tiger is one of a collection of book marks. I used the cheetah for the base as I loved the colourway but intend to make an "all tiger" card next. I have made a similar card using the siamese cat image but it has decoupaged glittered flowers on it and is not scanning very successfully, and as it is very pale colourway is scanning as black and white. I will have to get a really good scanner I think and also get better with the camera.

I have managed to add a picture now so it looks as if I am getting the hang of it very slowly.I will try to upload pics of some of the lovely artwork I have rec'd.

Peacock Summer Party

I have just been watching C&C pick of the week and it is the most amazing CD from Artylicious and some fabulous stamps. They are quite lovely and are a must for any crafter. Take a peek and see what you think.

Hooray-I've done it

I have managed to take a fairly clear photo of one of my cards and add to my gallery on the Joanna Sheen Forum. I still need practice with the camera though. The hardest part seems to be finding a place to put the subject so you can photograph without flash and avoid shadows. I will keep persevering.

I am a bit lost

Blog no 2 and I haven't quite got the hang of this yet!
I have been making a card to send to a fellow crafter in Spain. I picked up a few things at a boot sale today-glossy paper (£2 for 200 sheets) some gems and a butterfly stamp. I have got quite a lot of things this way so fellow crafters keep a look out. I am collecting Glimmer Mists and Elusive Images rubber stamps which I buy on line from my favourite craft sites-Joanna Sheen and Graphicus. I am just going to have a go at simple parchment craft using Wendy Walters FX stamps. It is not as complicated as traditional PC but looks very effective.
More to follow.

My First Blog

14th June 2008
I am new to this but I have just taken the plunge.
I am an enthusiastic crafter-especially papercrafts and cardmaking. I like using inks and stamps to create my own backgrounds ( I can't make myself cut into pre printed papers and have a huge collection of pristine sheets-especially Anna Griffin papers) Printing my own papers from CDs has also helped. I had no idea how versatile stamps could be but I am now a convert. I tend to have more image stamps than text ones as I usually print my words on the PC.
